The Palasport at the Città dello Sport Le Vele by Santiago Calatrava, known as a symbol of incomplete works in Italy, is set to be reborn. The construction site for the first phase of its functionalization has officially started, returning an important public space to the city of Rome in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee.

This ambitious project involves numerous administrations and professionals. Specifically, #SPERI, as the lead designer, has taken up the challenge. In Joint Venture (JV) with Archest and commissioned by the Agenzia del Demanio, #SPERI has drafted the executive project, which will be executed by the companies S.A.C. Società Appalti Costruzioni S.p.A. and Natura e Architettura Ortolani S.R.L.

The project and the safety plan have been developed using an integrated and innovative Building Information Modeling (BIM) approach. Seven different disciplinary models have been created and interconnected. The design elements have been characterized by the assignment of over 200 information parameters, with a total of more than 5000 data fields populated. This will enable 4D and 5D management of the construction site, enhancing efficiency and control over time and costs.
